# Getting started

> Get started using the API

Welcome! This guide will help you quickly get up and running with the Debbie API.

## 1. Get your sandbox environment

If you are not already having access to a sandbox environment, please contact the Debbie team. The sandbox allows you to safely explore the API and test your integration without affecting live data.

## 2. Connect to the API

In the Debbie platform, navigate to the Developer section in the menu on the right-hand side. From there, you can create a new API key to authenticate your requests. You can also subscribe to webhooks.

## 3. Understand Debbie core concepts

Before diving into the endpoints, we recommend reading the Core Concepts section to familiarize yourself with how Debbie works and how the different components fit together.
